Working Together Since 2009
Shaping California’s future
Our principals were responsible for the creation and initial development of the Westlands Solar Park in California’s Central Valley. Nearly 20,000 acres in size and capable of producing 2,700 MW, it’s one of the largest renewable energy projects in the world and the largest in California.
More recently, the principals expanded the team and rebranded as Golden State Clean Energy, LLC (GSCE) to pursue additional opportunities to develop clean, critical infrastructure for California’s future in addition to efforts at the Westlands Solar Park.
A Recognized Leader in Renewable Energy
Today, GSCE is recognized as a leading renewable energy infrastructure development firm specializing in:
- Sourcing sites for energy & infrastructure development projects
- Permitting large-scale & complex projects
Securing interconnection & transmission rights
- Coalition building & community outreach
Power & renewable attribute marketing
- Execution of complex business plans with increased scope & scale to achieve maximum benefit for the community, our customers and investors, and the environment.
Experts Working Together for a Cleaner Future
At GSCE, we work with large financial institutions, multi-national infrastructure companies, state/federal agencies, regulatory bodies, local governments, NGOs and our off-take customers to develop renewable markets and to strategically master plan developments in California and the western United States. We plan every project in the best interest of partners, ratepayers, the environment, the multitude of stakeholders and other affected partners in the communities we serve.
Individually, each of GSCE’s principals is an expert in renewable energy development in California. Collectively, we have successfully permitted over 3,500 MW, negotiated over 1,500 MW of PPAs, secured 40,000+ acres of development sites, and lead the development of one of California’s only privately-held transmission lines (in the past 10 years).
A Pipeline of Large-Scale Projects
As GSCE’s success has grown, so has our pipeline of projects for the next five to 15 years. At present, we have more than 1,400MWs of near to mid-term solar energy and storage projects that are in the early to mid-stages, and more than 5,000 MWs of long-term development opportunities. Our principals are also involved in an additional 1,300+MWs of solar energy projects with joint venture partners.
